Here is the Another World update for July 11, 1995. Anna is busy
for the rest of the month, so I will be filling in for her.

Anyway, here we go . . .

John and Charlene's Farm

They are sitting on the sofa in the living room commenting on how
quiet it is. Tomas and Josie enter, Tomas goes upstairs and Josie
goes to leave. She is stopped by John and Charlene. They ask what
is wrong and she replies that she has heard from Ian and that she
hates men. Turns out that Ian is getting married in September.

Josie is upset. They hadn't really broken up she says and she
feels so alone. Charlene is supportive. She says that she just
realized that if she bombs out at the academy, she can't turn to
Ian. She realizes she is late for her lesson and leaves. Tomas
walks through the living room asking if it is ok if he eats the
rest of the ice cream on his way to the kitchen. John and Charlene
comment on how a few minutes ago it was so quiet, and how they
figure it was the calm before the storm. Tomas re-enters. He is
torn, she always feels he is doing the wrong thing. (is torn
between Maggie, work and Luisa) He doesn't think that it is fair
to Maggie not to be able to spend time with her, she is going to
break up with her tonight. John is confused, why break up with
Maggie now, after all they have been through, she supported him
through everything. Tomas says that he keeps disappointing Maggie,
it isn't fair. John and Charlnene try to point out that Maggie
loves him and that she will wait. Tomas feels that he and Maggie
are in two different worlds right now and that it is not going to

work out after all. John clues in to the real problem and asks
Tomas if someone is moving in on Maggie. Tomas admits that Nick
is. Charlene thinks that they just need to clear the air. They
question whether or not Tomas is just going to let him take her.

They tell Tomas that she should not make Maggie's choices for her.

Luisa is asleep, go and see Maggie. Tomas says no, it is too late.

John advises Tomas to try not to fix everything. Tomas thanks them
for thier help and goes to bed. John and Charlene finish the ice
cream. They comment on how Tomas was treating them like parents
and how "neat" it was.

Cass and Frankie at Wallingfords

Frankie has come to get Cass as they are going out for supper.

Cass talks to baby Frankie is going to have and then she asks if
Cass happy? He is and then Frankie tells him that they need to
talk about home births and things about the baby. Joe enters. He
is waiting for Gary. Frankie tells Joe that Frankie is back from
Paris and he is releived. Joe wants to know how Frankie knows she
is back, did she try to call him? No, Frankie heard from Felicia.

They discuss Paulina and how Joe is pining away for her. Gary and
the cadets enter. Gary is doing a demo a the bookstore. Felica
enters. Frankie asks after Lorna. She is still ill. They demo is
about robberys, demos and how to handle themselves. They are
ready, but where is Josie? They decide to start without Josie.

They start just as Josie creaps in. Some of the cadets are
distracted by a beautiful woman. She comes on to Cass, then
leaves. Turns out she is a part of the demonstration and between
her and Joe, had robbed the place blind while no one was looking.

Gary comes down on them for sloppy work. Josie had seen what
happened, but no one else had even noticed her hair color, her
description, anything, except Josie. She nails the description.

Gary gives another cop lesson, this one about being aware of your
surroundings, not letting your guard down, then dismisses the
class. Thanks Felicia. They discuss the lesson. A couple of the
cadets (guys) decide to try to score a few brownie points with Gary
and invite him to Sassy's for a beer. He declines. They start to
get on his case (they figure that if they tell him that Josie is
coming too, he will probably come with them). Josie intervenes and
tell them to back off. Gary is not pleased. He again declines.

The decoy leaves, telling Gary she will see him later and they then
speculate whether or not he is seeing her. He doesn't deny it.

The cadets go to leave, Josie stays behind, saying she'll catch up
later. Gary and Josie discuss her actions, he tells her not to
ever stand up for him like that again. Josie leaves. Felicia and
Gary discuss how Gary really wants to go for a beer. He thinks he
is going to cave. Felicia can't go to a meeting with him right
now, her daughter is sick and she has to go to her. Why doesn't
Gary come with her, no, he doesn't want to impose. Felicia asks
him to reconsider. It will be alright. Gary leaves with Felicia.

Eddie enters. He and Joe discuss how Eddie just saw Grant and
Paulina. Joe is shocked. Eddie tells Joe that Grant is moving in
on Paulina. Joe leaves, angry and Eddie is pleased, things went
just as he planned. Cass comments on how shamless he was. A short
time later, Eddie has left and Cass and Frankie are still at the
bookstore. They kiss. Cass asks if Frankie still wants to go out
for a bite to eat. Frankie says all she wants is Cass's undivided
attention and to talk baby talk. They agree to Frankie having a
home birth, but Cass is worried.

Gary and Felicia at Lorna's

Lorna is still asleep. They discuss how Gary feels and how he
still wants a drink. She tells him he needs to get over it. gary
is mad. Why him? We hear how, on Gary's 18th birthday, his Dad
sat him down on a bar stool and poured drinks into him until he was
drunk. He commented on how little Gary could drink, so Gary spent
the summer "building his resistance". By the end of the summer, he
could drink 10 oz without falling. Then he knew he was a man. We
see that Gary is angry and doesn't think that he is a man if he
can't drink. Felicia is supportive and tells him, that you can't
get respect and admiration by drinking. Gary wants to know how he
can be normal if he can't drink. Felicia says she can tell him,
but she doesn't think he is going to like it. Does he want to go
back to his other life? No, he just wants his life back. Felicia
tells him that he can't and that although things are rough, he can
make it. Gary feels like a freak because he can't hang out with
his friends or anyone else who drinks. Gary gets mad and goes to
leave. Felicia asks him if he thought this was going to be easy
and to hang in there, she knows he can do it. Gary sits on the
steps, and says that he still wants a beer. Felicia says she
knows, and that he just has to want this more. Ok, says gary, he
does. Thanks, he is ok now. He is leaving and he hopes Lorna
feels better soon.

JAKE

Is still confused. Says "I don't belive this" A short time later,
we see Jake in a robe (Yowwwwwza!!!!) There is a knock on door.

His plane ticket has arrived. He looks at it. "One way back to
the USA and his life, whatever that is." Later, Jake is having a
nap and wakes up startled. He says, "I have to stop drifting off
like that. Every time I close my eyes, I see that woman. Who is
she?"

Grant and Paulina at the Opera

They both appreciate the opera. Eddie enters. He wants to talk to
Paulina for a few minutes. They discuss the opera and the
parellels it has in thier lives. Eddie makes his pitch for Joe.

She is breaking his heart. He was only trying to help. Give him
another chance. He loves you. Listen from your heart, cause he
will be speaking from his heart. Grant and Paulina leave. Eddie
doesn't like Grant.

Grant and Paulina arrive back at Paulina's. Paulina had a
wonderful time at the opera. They discuss the plot of the opera.

She invites Grant in for coffee. They discuss Eddie and Joe and
all that happened. (looking into Jakes death, etc.) Paulina
wonders aloud if she will ever be able to trust another man ever
again. She tells Grant the story. They talk about how Jake
disappointed her agian. Grant says that although Jake was a snake,
he loved her. They discuss how you can be wrong about love. Grant
tells her it is time to give it up and start to live again. She is
better off without him. Paulina figures it is time for Grant to
leave. Grant leaves. Paulina starts to daydream. Jake bursts in
through the front door. Paulina says, "I knew you'd come back."

Jake says, "How could I stay away from the most beautiful woman in
the world that I love more than my whole life?" They kiss
passionately. She knees him and as he is falling to the floor in
pain, says, "You two faced liar, you never loved anybody but
yourself, you played me for a chump, you conned me and then ran out
on me and then had the nerve to die before I could tell you how
much I hate you for it. Jake asks for another chance, Paulina
refuses and is just going to light in to him again when the
doorbell rings. Its Joe! He needs to talk to her and is not
leaving until she hears what he has to say. FREEZE FRAME

Just a closing comment. This last scene with Jake and Paulina is
classic AW, just what we have all come to expect from Tom E. I am
sure I am not the only one who is glad to have him back!!!!!
