AW: Update, Monday July 10, 1995

I hope this is my day...my regular day was Wimbledonned.

Weeeeeee're Baaaaaa-aaaaaaack! yay

Lorna takes a pregnancy test. Grant is so wrapped up in
himself he barely notices how ill she is. Morgan and Felicia
complain to each other about Lorna's stubbornness. Carl and
Ryan plot against Justine. Candy is sacked. Paulina is back
and off to the opera.
Jake heads for home.

Lorna's Apt:

Lorna is taking a home pregnancy test. She really feels
quite ill. Grant arrives. She can hardly make it to the
door. Grant is miffed she took so long, but he forgives her.
Grant has tickets for the opera, but Lorna doesn't want to
go. He thinks she's mad about his telethon appearance, but
she says she's cool about all that. Did she see Morgan
reading poetry? Yes she did. Did she call in the challenge?
No she didn't. Then what is wrong with her, he wants to
know. [THE MAN IS BLIND? She really looks like H-E-L-L].

Bookstore:

Morgan arrives to speak to Felicia. He says he's worried
about Lorna. Morgan says Lorna is probably sicker than she
lets on. It's morning sickness. Lorna is sicker than that,
he says, Lorna needs to go to a doctor, NOW. Felicia leaves
to get Lorna to a doctor. Grant doesn't even know that Lorna
might be pregnant. Morgan asks why Lorna hasn't told
him...Why do you think? Felicia asks. She's afraid of
Grant's reaction, Felicia says. It's complicated, Lorna is
proud, Felicia says. The rape trial made Lorna feel that she
doesn't deserve any better. Morgan is sorry that he couldn't
convince her otherwise, he says.

Maggie and Tomas on telephone: Maggie (Cory parlour) has a
surprise for Tomas, and tells him to stay put until she gets
there. Candy is packing a picnic basket for Maggie (like
Mags ARMS are BROKEN?) Candy tells Maggie that she should
choose either Tomas or Nick. Maggie says Nick is NOT part of
her life.

Ryan and Carl in Cory foyer: Carl is livid. Phone records
from Justine's hotel have disappeared, so they can't tell
who she called, or if anyone called her. Paulina arrives
carrying a letter from NotRachel to Carl. The letter tells
about NotRachel's & Paulina's visit. She wants him to join
her. Ryan asks if NotRachel had any visitors, notably
someone called Christophe Boudreau? Nope, says Paulina.
Rachel really helped her, she says. She talked about Grant,
a lot, too. Paulina thought NotRachel was pushing her toward
Grant. She tells Ryan that she's going to put Jake behind
her. Paulina leaves.

Enter Maggie: She tells Carl she'll be really late, and
Carl hardly notices. Maggie comments to Ryan that is WEIRD.
Ryan agrees. When Maggie leaves Carl and Ryan discuss how
clever Justine is being. Now Justine thinks she is alone to
carry out her plan against Rachel. Ryan reminds Carl that
Justine is being trailed. Can the man in Paris do something
about he phone records? Ryan says the legal system in
France will have to be dealt with. Carl says it will take
too long to find out about Christophe Boudreau. Candy
overhears the name and tries to sneak out. Carl sees her and
demands to know what she knows. Candy explains about the
newsman from Paris, who wanted to photograph the house. She
didn't know he really wanted to steal the Degas. Besides
Rachel said to forget the whole thing. Carl fires her
immediately. "The sooner I'm outta this loony bin, the
better," she says. They know that Boudreau visited the house
twice. Carl says Candy better have told them everything.
He's having her followed.
Carl decides to join Justine in Paris. He'll get the
truth out of her, even if he has to squeeze it out. Ryan
says that will do no good. Justine is desperate. If she
dies, no one will find out where Rachel is. Ryan says he
can't tell Carl what to do. His mother is a psychopath, he
says.

Japan: Jake appears! [woo*woo*sweat]. Mr Eberhardt, [Jake,
AKA Bunny(kins)] is quite the international marketeer,
apparently, and that is why he was on Japanese TV. The host
asks him where he acquired his business acumen, and Jake
replies that he has no idea how he "got so good". [I'd kinda
like to know, as well].
When alone, Jake wonders about his past.

John Hudson Farm: Maggie arrives. She remembers Nick's
lecture about her and her "future in waiting" because Tomas
is always busy with work or Luisa. Tomas is waiting for her.
The surprise is a picnic. Tomas can't go because of promise
to Luisa. Maggie says she wants to spend time alone with
Tomas. Tomas gets angry that Maggie is making him choose
between her and Luisa. Maggie thinks he's avoiding being
alone with her. He says he doesn't want to get her pregnant.
Maggie says she's not stupid. He says "babies having babies"
is no way to grow up. Maggie is furious that he thinks she's
a baby and walks out. [Any bets she meets nick somewhere?]

Lorna's Apt: Grant says he doesn't know what to do to make
up. Lorna tells him to forget it, and let it go. He starts
in again, and she tells him that she doesn't feel well.
FINALLY, he notices that she looks pale. He attempts to call
a doctor but Lorna freaks. She just doesn't feel well, she
says. She'll go to a doctor tomorrow, she says. Go to the
opera with Paulina, she says. Grant likes that idea. He
calls Paulina and asks her to the opera. She says yes.
[aughh what a bonehead] Grant leaves. Lorna reads her
pregnancy test. She's not pregnant.

Felicia arrives. Both are puzzled by the test results.
Lorna looks terrible, and she needs medical attention
Felicia says.[YADDA YADDA YADDA] They argue about Grant's
attending the opera with Paulina, and Lorna almost passes
out. Felicia wants Lorna to go to the hospital NOW. Lorna
says "tomorrow". Felicia agrees, reluctantly, realizing that
Morgan is right. Lorna is very ill, NOT pregnant.

Opera: Paulina and Grant arrive. They tell the story of
"Tosca". [A woman tries to save her lover from execution.
When she fails, she commits suicide] Paulina says she knows
betrayal. Jake and "somebody else" betrayed her. When the
music starts Paulina gets weepy.

Japan: Jake, getting antsy, calls someone and says he's
"coming home". FREEZE FRAME [and a delightful one it is,
too!]
