                Another World Tuesday, May 27

Paulina and Amanda both awaken gasping from
nightmares about losing Rachel. Meanwhile, John
regretfully informs Rachel that her tumor has begun
to press against a major artery. Warning that her
life is on the line, John urges his patient to
consent to immediate surgery but she again refuses
to endanger her unborn child. Recalling how certain
Sofia was about the identity of his mysterious
benefactor, Tomas agrees to take Nick's Spanish exam
in his stead. After hiding the truth from her
husband and Amanda, Rachel privately asks Paulina to
help Carl look after her little one if she doesn't
survive. Feeling on top of the world, Nick promises
      a starry-eyed Sofia they're facing a bright future
together. Though devastated by the thought of Rachel
leaving them, a sobbing Paulina vows to do whatever
she can to hold the family together. Later, Rachel
takes Felicia into her confidence, admitting to her
old friend how frightened she is of dying. Sensing
that he hasn't heard the whole story about his
wife's condition, Carl demands some answers from
John. Nick decides to take the Spanish test on his
own after all. Carl signs the consent form for
surgery as Rachel's health rapidly deteriorates.
