Here's the summary for Thursday, March 20:

AT VICKY'S: Carl and Rachel drop by to visit with Stephen and Kirkland
(Vicky is resting). Carl has brought tongue depressors for the kids use
for buiilding things, and the kids are anxious to jump right in. Rachel
is caught off-guard when Kirkland tells her that he misses Grant, and asks
when he could call him.

AT BCPD:

Joe and Gary question Grant and then play the taped confession. Watching
from another room are Jake and Josie, and they argue about the legitimacy
of the tape. While listening to the tape, Grant's memory is triggered to
"Justine" (aka Carl) and Grant almost jumps out of his seat. Joe
pressures Grant to spill it and Gary reminds Grant that since they were
given the tape by a private citizen, it is admissible evidence. A very
anxious Grant shouts that they not believe Carl, and then grabs his head,
complaining that his ears won't stop ringing. He screams to go to the
hospital, claiming he hasn't been okay since the night before. Joe says
he will get the care he needs, and then he and Gary leave the room. Joe
wants to let Grant stew for awhile and then interrogate him all over
again.

When Joe returns to his office, he sees Paulina in the midst of hanging
pictures on his walls (what business would ever allow this?). Paulina
wants to spruce up the office with momentos so that people will know what
kind of a man Joe is.

Meanwhile, Josie tells Gary that this all doesn't make sense, citing that
this taped confession sounds awfully similar to the confession that they
decided not to use b/c Grant sounded too drugged. Gary passes it off as
being different and asks what they should have for dinner. Josie
suggests they do a side-by-side comparison of the two tapes. Gary tells
her that they will have a real confession in a few hours, then the tape
Carl brought in won't matter, and asks her again about dinner. Feeling
that whatever she says goes in one ear and out the other with Gary, Josie
argues that they were supposed to just gain information, not get a
drug-induced confession. Gary asks Josie why she is standing up for
Grant, saying he is guilty anyway. Josie points to the code of conduct
oath that they gave, and threatens to go to Joe if he doesn't. Gary
brings up Sharlene, and asks Josie how safe her mother will be if Grant
is released. Quite upset, Josie insists that Gary promised Sharlene
would be safe. Gary replies that this case is different and that they
need to do what they have to to obtain justice. Josie sarcastically
comments that every case is different with him.

At VICKY'S:

Carl sees Jake and heads him off outside. Jake tells Carl that the
police are grilling Grant. Carl asks about the tape, and Jake believes
not even an expert could tell that it was doctored. Carl asks that Jake
not tell Rachel how he got the confession...Jake agrees. Going inside,
Rachel asks what the two of them we talking so earnestly about outside.
Jake tells her that he didn't want Kirkland to hear that Grant is being
questioned. Rachel wonders if they have found evidence against Grant.
Jake and Carl cover by saying that everyone is being tight-lipped about
it at BCPD. Appearing the image of patience, Carl states that they will
just have to wait for an official police announcement, much to Rachel's
relief.

BACK AT BCPD:

Joe just leaves the office to get some blood tests going on Grant when
Reece Schneider (an auto thief) confronts Paulina. he advises that
Paulina be careful b/c of wiseguys that Joe has to deal with in his job.
He continues that Paulina wouldn't want her family to get hurt by one of
these wiseguys (who the cops cross), and looks at a picture of Dante.
Obvious that he got his point across, he moves to leave, but stops to tell
her that "accidents happen". Joe comes back a few moments later to find a
very shaken Paulina, who retells Schneider's threat against their family.
Joe tries to minimize the threat by calling Schneider a "two-bit car
theif" and "small potatoes". He asks another officer to walk Paulina
home, then sternly demands that Schneider be picked up.

Meanwhile, Tomas and Emily have been called to attend to Grant and take
some blood. Grant returns to the holding/interrogatoin room, and a woman
walks in claiming to be his attorney. He points out that he is a lawyer,
and she tells him that this case would make her career b/c of its high
profile. Grant sarcastically tells her that he already gives to
charity. She reminds him that she is on the outside, and knows that
Grant likes to run the show. Just before Joe returns, he agrees that she
be his lawyer in name only - but he will tell her what exactly to do and
she will follow his every detail. She agrees and when Joe comes in,
starts to berate him for holding her client when he obviously needs
medical attention. Joe dismisses her comments by telling her that he has
already received the needed attention. (Btw, her name is Chelsey Hilliard).

AT SOPHIA and EMILY'S APT:

While Tomas and Emily are attending to their "emergency", Sophia becomes
nervous about being alone with Nick. When Emily returns, Sophia points
out that there is lots of food left, and quickly says goodnight. Emily
bluntly tells Nick she knows Nick still has feelings for Sophia, saying
she has seen the looks they exchange. Emily is not that bothered that
Nick may have some feelings for Sophia, b/c she is going to help Nick
forget all about Sophia. They kiss a little, then put on some music.
Sneaking a peek from her bedroom, Sophia sees them kissing and dancing.

BCPD:

Josie continues to lobby Gary about going to Joe - she is worried about
losing her badge by being quiet, and points to tainted evidence and a
blown investigation. Bottom line: this is about truth, Josie states.
Gary wants to wait and see if the blood test shows any signs of the truth
serum, and picks up the phone and calls Joe, much to Josie's disgust and
disappointment.

ENDING
Much later on at Josie and Gary's, Josie is laying in bed with her back
turned to Gary who is sitting on the bed. Gary tells her that the tests
results found no abnormalities, and that questioning will continue
tomorrow. Josie does not acknowledge him, and he tells her that he knows
she isn't asleep. FADE OUT...

That's it!
Tracey
