Here's a short update for 3/5/96....

CECILE/MAGGIE/CASS

Cecile tells Maggie how happy she is that Maggie let her off easy with
the
cops instead of having her busted; now, Cecile says, is the perfect

opportunity for them to grow closer. Not so fast, Maggie tells her
mother,
"I'm not through with you yet." Maggie then tells Cecile to pack her
bags
and get out. Cecile protests that she has no money, where will she go
if
she has to leave the Cory mansion? Maggie is unmoved. Cass comes in
and
tries to smooth things over. Cecile storms out in a huff, and Cass
tells
Maggie that he has to go home to Frankie and Charlie, but he will
always be
there if she needs him. He holds her face in his hands tenderly for a
moment,
then says goodbye and leaves.

MAGGIE/RAPHAEL

After Cass leaves, Maggie spots Raphael lurking outside the glass doors
to

the terrace. He tries to come on to her, reminding her how great the

chemistry between them is, but she puts him off, although it's obvious
that
he is getting to her nontheless. Raphael tells her that he will be
working
on repairing the Cory chapel, and Maggie snorts that he will be just
like all
the rest of the hired help, and she doesn't associate with those sort
of

people.

MORGAN/CHRIS/JOE

Morgan storms into the cop shop with Chris in tow; they are looking
for

Courtney, whom they believe to be in mortal danger from Andrew. Joe
hears

them out, and informs the Captain.

GABE/LORNA

Lorna shows up at Gabe's office to fess up to having visited Grant in
jail
in an attempt to get the low down on Gabe. Gabe asks her why she
didn't just
come to him directly. Lorna says every time she asks him about his
past,

especially his marriage, he clams up. Can he blame her for going to
Grant?
After all, he asked her questions about *her* past. They are
interrupted

when Joe comes in to tell Gabe about the Andrew-Courtney situation.
Gabe

asks Lorna if they can pick this up later, and she says she'll meet him
at
his apartment if he gives her the keys. He goes to his desk and picks
up
a set of keys, but detaches some keys from the rest of the set instead
of giving her the whole bunch. She notices his momentary hesitation
and
comments on how he doesn't even trust her with the keys to his
apartment. He
makes some excuse about how he needs the other keys to lock up the
office

when he leaves, but it's obvious that something more is going on.

COURTNEY/ANDREW

Andrew is in a foaming, sputtering rage, yelling at Courtney about how
she's
betrayed him. He's already hit her twice, and is preparing to do it
again.
Courtney is terrified, and Andrew tells her that he knows she can take
him
back, they were a couple once, they can be so again. Courtney says how
could
she go back to him after what he's done to her? Andrew lunges after
Courtney
in another attempt to hit her, but she evades him and he chases her
around

the apartment for a few seconds until finally, she gets the opportunity
to

knee him in the groin. Andrew collapses to the floor and Courtney
takes the
opportunity to run out of the apartment. She heads for the east wing
of the

hospital, and once Andrew recovers enough to get up, he follows after
her.
In the hospital's east wing, Courtney tries to call security, but
doesn't

make the connection in time, with Andrew hot on her heels. He chases
her
into an elevator and then he pulls the fire alarm...

MORGAN/CHRIS/JOE/GABE

Morgan and Chris realize that the one place they haven't looked is
Andrew's

apartment, and immediately they go there. Meanwhile, Gabe and Joe put
out
an APB on both Andrew and Courtney, and Gabe tells Joe to see if they
have
any extra on-duty cops they can round up for backup. Morgan and Chris
find
Andrew's apartment a mess, with signs of a struggle all around. They
rush

out, and Morgan finds out from a man on the street who knows Courtney
that
she was last seen running towards the east wing of the hospital...

GABE/LORNA

Gabe comes home to find Lorna waiting for him. He says he wasn't sure
if she
would be there or not, but she says that this is too important an issue
to

leave unresolved between them. Gabe starts getting very romantic,
kissing
Lorna, as she tries to ask him questions. Finally she gets him to
answer
a couple, such as was his marriage happy? He says it didn't end
happily, that
it was very painful for him. Does he still ever see his ex-wife? He
says
no. She asks him if he's sure that there's

absolutely nothing else that he needs to tell her, and he says no,
there
isn't. She has another question to ask, but they are

both so overcome with passion for each other that finally they just
succumb
and fall into each others arms.....Later, lying in bed, Lorna says she
is much
happier, that she feels that they've turned a corner. She gets him to
talking
about his father, and how he died. Gabe and his father were never very
close,
his father was a tough Irish cop, and Gabe somehow always knew that he
would
die in the line of duty. When Gabe was in law school, they got the
call that
his father had been killed by a bunch of kids pulling a convenience
store

holdup. Gabe was so distraught that he stole his father's service
revolver
and went looking for the kids that did it. That was when Grant found
him and
talked him out of using the gun. Gabe remembered how at his father's
funeral,
his mother's face was full of dignity and loss as they handed her the
folded
American flag. She didn't cry, and neither did her son. Gabe cries as
he

is recounting this memory to Lorna. She says she wishes she could take
the

pain away. Gabe asks her to promise him something: that from now on,
if she
has any questions about his past, to come to him directly. She assures
him she
will, and says that now she feels like a great weight has been lifted
from her,
she's not even upset anymore by talk of his previous marriage. Now
there's
nothing standing between them anymore, she says, but upon hearing this,
Gabe's
expression is still troubled and uneasy....

NICK/SOPHIA/FRANKIE

Nick chases the last customer out of Carlino's so he and Sophia can be
alone
together. He puts on some music and tries to get her to relax, but she
says
she's in a very bad mood. Nick tells her how impressed he is with her,
working
at the restaurant and planning a wedding while other girls her age are
engaged
in more trivial pursuits, like just hanging out and shopping. Sophia
says

that she could never be like that, she was never a rich girl with a
trust fund
like Maggie Cory. Nick says he likes her all the better for that, in
fact,

he's crazy about her. They dance for a while to romantic music.
Frankie

comes in and asks them if they've seen Cass. She's not sure what's
going on,
but something has definitely been weird with Cass lately...

SHARLENE/RITA

Rita tells Sharlene to leave a memo on John's desk, and then asks
Sharlene
if that will be a problem for her. Sharlene says no it won't. Rita
makes
some remarks about how John is already making enough trouble about the

firing of Morgan Winthrop, and how John should really learn to keep his
personal and his private life separate.

NICK/SOPHIA/JOE/CHRIS/RITA/CECILE/FRANKIE

When Andrew pulled the fire alarm, he set off an uproar. Now the whole

hospital is being evacuated, and the fire department is on the scene.
Everybody is working at helping the patients leave the hospital, and
Sophia
suggest to Joe that they use the empty Carlino's as a temporary
shelter.
Frankie, Sharlene and Rita are all at Carlino's, doing what they can to
help
patients, as Sophia serves everyone free coffee and food. Cecile comes
in
looking for Cass, and is snippy to Frankie. Frankie finds Cecile to be
her
usual annoying self, and brushes her off. Cecile tells Frankie that
Cass is
trying to take her daughter (Maggie) away from her. Now why would Cass
do
that? asks Frankie. Because she's HIS daughter too, Cecile tells her.

Frankie tells Cecile that she's come up with some whoppers in the past,
but
this one beats them all...

COURTNEY/ANDREW/MORGAN

Andrew follows Courtney into the elevator, and starts alternately
threatening
her and pleading with her to take him back. Terrified, Courtney says
that

if only Andrew will let her go, she promises not to tell anyone that he
pulled
those plugs. Andrew says why should he let her go, just so she can
leave
him? Courtney says he can trust her, and she can prove it, and she
pretends
for a few seconds to come on to him sexually, but just as he lets his
guard

down, she pushes him away and runs out of the elevator. She leads him
a merry
chase up and down some flights of stairs, with Andrew yelling and
threatening
every step of the way. Meanwhile, Morgan is in the east wing looking
for

Courtney, and covers the same ground, yelling Courtney's name. Andrew
comes
out a doorway that leads to the roof of the hospital, and spots
Courtney

running below. In trying to escape, she eventually ends up on the roof
as

well. (The more I think about this scene, the less sense it makes.)
Andrew
grabs Courtney and holds a switchblade knife at her throat, saying "If
I can't
have you, no one will!!...." FREEZE FRAME
