Here's what I remember from AW for Monday, 1/6/97 -

Felicia and Sharlene are learning to coexist; Felicia has moved in
and is starting to organize the household schedule and routine.
Sharlene goes to have her home health worker help her take a bath; Josie
comes over to the farmhouse and sees Felicia holding forth, and Josie goes
ballistic. Felicia tries to explain that they've worked it out, she and
Sharlene are both motivated for her to walk again, it may look strange but
we know what we're doing. Josie continues to raise a stink, full of nasty
comments for Felicia. Sharlene returns and tells Josie to lay off, but
the girl can't help herself. Gary comes by and overhears the raised
voices from outside. He comes in and tries to run interference, but
Josie's on her high horse. Gary takes Felicia outside for some air, while
Sharlene tries to talk to Josie. Josie is adamant against this
abomination, but Gary manages to calm Felicia and offer his support for
this crazy arrangement. Gary takes Josie home, Josie keeps ranting and
raving about that slut running around taking over my mother's life. She
wants to call John at the hospital this very minute and raise a stink
about what's going on. Gary starts nuzzling her neck, nibbling at her
earlobes, etc. - eventually, she decides the phone call can wait...

Rachel has a fainting spell at the Cory get-together at Carlinos, and over
her protests everyone insists she go get checked out at the hospital. She
demands to be allowed to walk under her own power, but adds she'll let Dr.
John examine her "again," - which everyone takes to mean, this has
happened to her before.

John examines her, w/ Amanda & Paulina in the room (and Matt/Joe/Sofia
waiting outside). He doesn't seem to find much wrong, doesn't seem
concerned until they remind him it's happened before, suddenly he sounds
more interested. Rachel suddenly has an idea of what the problem could
be, asks everyone else to leave so she can talk w/ John alone, but they
refuse [what nerve! And John is no help, either!]. So she says o.k.,
I'll just say it, I think maybe it's just menopause. John says could be,
the symptoms are consistent.

Meanwhile, for some reason, Carl stops by Carlinos for a drink
[personally, that's not the first bar I would have thought of...]. He
spots Rachel's scarf on the counter, and demands info from the waiter. He
tells Carl yes, your wife was here, she fainted and they took her to the
hospital. Carl dashes over, worried sick, but Matt puts on his
holier-than-Carl attitude and answers his concern w/ snide remarks.
Tom'as has to come over and warn them to quiet down, this is a hospital.
Just then Rachel and the girls come out, Rachel looks shocked (as usual)
to run into Carl, says she's just fine and they're going home. Later Carl
tries to get info out of John about what's wrong w/ his wife, but John
just says ask her, I can't tell you. Tom'as comes over and tells Carl he
overheard Rachel & the girls talking, didn't sound like it was a serious
medical problem. Carl isn't too comforted by hearsay info from a med
student - you'll have to make do, Tom'as advises. Carl reluctantly
agrees.

They go home and everyone fusses over Rachel, but she keeps saying she's
fine. She refuses to join them in trashing Carl, recalling how much
he'd brought to her life; she knew from the start that he'd be a real
challenge, but she didn't realize at the time that she wouldn't be
strong enough for that kind of effort.

Sofia retreats to the patio so she won't intrude, of course Matt follows
and assures her she'd fit right in. She comments on his hostility toward
Carl at the hospital, more than just protective of his mom; she'd never
seen him display actual hatred. [Stick around, chickie.] He talks about
how he felt when Rachel first started seeing Carl, then he tells Sofia
about finding out as a teenager that Mac wasn't his real father, Mitch
Blake was, he was a guy who'd tried to kill Mac, we eventually developed a
decent relationship but my life wasn't all roses growing up. Sofia,
virgin or not, somehow finds this endearing.

Vicky is adamant that she doesn't want Bobby moving in with her, even to
sleep in the attic, Grant could use that as an excuse to get custody of
Kirk. Besides, she's almost more afraid of the fight Bobby and Jake will
have when Jake finds out Vicky let Bobby move in but not Jake. Bobby
sympathizes, but it was the last straw when Grant started mauling her,
think it over for the safety of you and the kids. He also tells her he
and Carl swept the place for bugs, didn't find anything but they're still
sure Grant is up to no good. They go downstairs and discuss it some more,
then Vicky decides to pick up the phone and call Cass, she'd like to
discuss getting a restraining order against Grant. Cass comes over, and
he thinks Grant's earlier scene is probably sufficient grounds for a
restraining order to keep him away from Vicky - although Kirk wasn't
involved, so it probably won't affect Grant's visitation. Have Etta Mae
handle things with Grant, Cass advises. Bobby isn't convinced that the
restraining order goes far enough. I'm listening, says Cass. Vicky
relates Bobby's offer to move in, as well as her fear that it could
backfire in custody court if Grant uses it to paint her as an unfit
mother. Cass thinks it shouldn't matter, Vicky's a single woman who's
entitled to a life, Grant won't get far alleging immorality on that score
alone - he stops short of agreeing that it's a good idea, or even
necessary, but he eyes them carefully and concludes that it couldn't hurt.
He promises to request the restraining order first thing in the morning;
don't do anything I wouldn't do, he quips to Bobby (which they ignore).
Just then Steven & Kirk are dropped off at home; Cass greets them as he
exits. Vicky informs S & K that Bobby is moving into the attic for a
while. They're delighted - but what about my special friend who lives in
the attic? Kirk wonders. Kirk admits the "friend" hasn't been around much
lately; Bobby assures him, if I seem him I'm sure we'll get along fine.
He's nice, Kirk assures him, he smiles a lot [but I can never get
enough...!].

Later Bobby says he's got everything he needs, but Vicky brings Bobby a
blanket, a pillow, a table lamp, a towel & washcloth - also a portable
radio, which Bobby practically leaps to insist he doesn't need (afraid of
more voices coming out, I guess)! The have the obligatory scene where he
hears her getting undressed downstairs, and she hears him getting
undressed in the attic, then they settle in to sleep. Later she hears a
noise and tiptoes downstairs, where she runs into Shirtless Bobby - he,
too, had heard a noise...FREEZE FRAME.

Probably left out a lot, but this is strictly from a (rapidly fading)
memory...
