Here is the Another World Update for Tuesday, January 29, 1996.

Sorry if this one seems a bit disjointed but they really skipped
around a lot today.

Morgan's Apartment (Courtney and Morgan)

Courtney tells Morgan that she will never forget this night, the
food, music, the necklace. Morgan tells her that he didn't get
her a necklace. Andrew she says and takes it off. Are you going
to keep it, he asks? No, she isn't. Well that's garbage, just
like Andrew is going to be when I get through with him, cause I'm
gonna kill him. I wish I had never brought up the necklace,
Courtney tells Morgan. We are a team, we stick together and you
are safe. They discuss Andrew and wonder what it would take to
get him to stay away from her. When asked if she still had any
feelings for Andrew, Courtney tells Morgan that she only has
feelings for him, she is glad to be away from Andrew. He is out
of my life and he knows it, Courtney tells him. Ok (Kiss, kiss)
no more talk of Andrew, ok?

Courtney and Morgan are kissing on the couch. Morgan pulls back
and Courtney asks what is wrong. He explains that they need to
slow down. She tells him that she doesn't want to slow down.

They discuss whether she is ready or not. She starts to undress
him, telling him that she wants him to make love to her. Who am
I to deny a woman what she wants? He goes to her and they
continue.

Morgan and Courtney are lying in bed, enjoying the afterglow.

They discuss the wonderful dessert they experienced. They are
tired and it is time to go to sleep and Courtney can't wait to
find out what's for breakfast. They cuddle and Morgan goes to
sleep. Courtney gets up and goes and gets Andrew's necklace out
of the garbage.

Cory Mansion (Carl and Vicky)

Vicky tells Carl that she hasn't been completely straight with
him. About what, asks Carl. She tells him that when she heard
about Maggie she wanted to come and give her condolences. Carl
tells her that she has, now what is the real reason for this
visit. She tells him that she had a visit from Grant and that he
is acting really strange. She thinks that Grant is ready to come
clean about shooting Ryan. Carl expresses his doubts and offers
Vicky his gun (which he pulls out of the couch in the living
room). I don't need a gun, she tells him. Don't underestimate
Grant, he replies, if he gets any inkling that she is leading him
into a confession he will strike out viciously. I can handle
myself with Grant, Vicky insists. All trapped animals become
dangerous, if he senses that the end is near, he may strike out,
even at you. I made a promise to Ryan that she was going to
bring Grant to justice and that is a promise that she is not
going to break. Yes, he knows all that, but he thinks that Ryan
would agree with him, she should be armed. She reminds him that
the night of the gala, when she was standing in this room with a
gun pointed at Justine, thinking that she was the one who shot
Ryan, she couldn't shoot her. She doesn't know what she would do
if she did take the gun. Now you know the truth, and you will
fire it only in self defence. Now, I want to arm you with
another weapon. We're talking about one man here, I don't need a
heat seeking missile, says Vicky. Yes, well, I had something a
little more subtle in mind. He opens a case and brings out a
small bottle. He tells her that he will feel much better when
she gets some of this into Grant. She asks what it is and he
tells her that it is a form of truth serum, two or three drops of
this and Grant will be babbling like a brook. Rachel enters,
Vicky, I didn't know that you were here. Vicky explains that she
wanted to drop by and give them both her condolences. She also
tells them that she is sure that Ryan is watching over Maggie
right now. Vicky tells them it is time for her to go, Bridget is
watching over the boys. Be careful Vicky, Rachel tells her
(Vicky looks at her, shocked), on the drive home. Vicky leaves
and Rachel asks Carl what is going on, what is he up to with
Vicky?

What was that with Vicky, Rachel asks again. Carl evades the
question. Plotting against Grant, eh? says Rachel. Why won't
you answer me. They discuss Vicky's visit and Rachel asks what
Carl gave her. A keepsake, he tells her. She tells him that she
is suspicious because he has been trying to prove that Grant is
guilty for so long, but if he is using Vicky as a proxy, it isn't
going to work. Carl tells her that in the wake of Maggie's death
he came to the realization that this obsession of his could kill
him. After this brush with death, it is their life together that
is important. The closeness, moments like these and he will do
nothing to jepordize that. She tells him that she would like to
think that he wouldn't. Cecile enters. She asks why she is
back, Cass had told them that she was leaving. She tells them
that her travel plans have changed and she is not going anywhere
for the moment. Rachel suggests that she goes upstairs and takes
a sedative. She tells her no, she needs to figure out what she
is going to do, then covers for her comment. Who, what?? Cecile
covers by telling them that she was referring to the man who
kidnapped Maggie. The doorbell rings. Rachel opens the door to
Jake. He has come to offer his condolences regarding Maggie and
to talk to Carl. He tells Rachel that he bets that she is going
to miss her grandkids while they are away in London for a couple
of months. Rachel doesn't know what he is talking about. Jake
tells Rachel to tell Carl that he will talk to him later and
leaves. Wait, says Rachel, but it is too late.

Rachel again opens the door, this time to Maggie. Maggie, she
exclaims, oh my God! Maggie heads into the living room. Maggie,
Carl says with a shocked look on her face. Cecile turns and
manages to look shocked at seeing her daughter home again. She
drops a glass and says, do I believe my eyes, is it really you,
Maggie? Oh, my darling, and rushes to embrace her.

Grant's Apartment (Grant)

Grant is getting ready for the evening. He picks up a picture of
Vicky and after kissing his finger, presses it to the picture.

Victoria, you are about to get the shock of your life.

Boarding House (Maggie and Cecile)

Maggie tells Cecile that she is nothing like her. Cecile points
out that she is exactly like her, she faked her own death. She
put everyone through hell. All right, maybe I am my mother's
daughter, you made me into a monster, are you happy now mother,
now no one will ever be able to love me! Cecile asks Maggie how
she is ever going to explain to her family why she put them
through so much grief. We see Raphael listening outside the
room.

I'll just tell everyone it was your idea, you faked my death to
get your greedy little hands on my trust fund. Cecile replies
that no one will believe that. Maggie looks skeptical. Well,
they might, but you shouldn't be too hasty here, you are upset
and understandably upset, but we have to think this thing
through. We? Yes, you don't think that I would abandon my own
daughter now, do you? Thank goodness I've had experience getting
myself out of difficulties like this, I will be a great help to
you. Thank you, Mother, but I think that you have already done
enough. Lets not rush into anything. She thinks a moment, maybe
you don't want to resurrect yourself too soon. And why is that?
Questions Maggie. Cecile explains that she is the legatee of her
trust fund and that she is about to come into a lot of money. My
money, says Maggie. Yes, admits Cecile, yes, but you are
supposed to be dead, and I am about to come into this money that
has been stashed away from you until you turn 25 which is an
interminably long time form now. So what hair-brained scheme are
you cooking up now? Just imagine what we could do with all that
money if you just keep playing dead. Mother! Cecile dreams
about traveling and spending time with her daughter. Cecile
starts to make plans about leaving and getting her hands on the
trust fund when she remembers the note she left Cass. She panics
and tells Maggie to stay put, she has to see Cass (she does
explain about the note to Maggie). Maggie tells her that it's
Cass again, she is running off to be with Cass. Cecile tells
Maggie that she just needs to take care of this one little thing
and that she will be back. Cecile leaves and Maggie goes to the
door. Raphael comes up behind her and Maggie sees him. Just
what I need, she says. Back in the room, Maggie tells him that
she is sorry that she knocked him out and tied him up. She
brings him up to speed on Cecile's latest. He tells her that he
didn't expect her to be there when he got back and that she
should leave now and forget that she even knows him. She tells
him that she isn't sure that she is ready to go back to her old
life yet. Just get out, he tells her, pushing her toward the
door. She promises him that she will keep him out of this whole
mess with Cecile and it is no big deal to him if she stays there
a little while longer. Are you crazy? Get out of here before I
really lose it, ok? I can't go out there right now, it's
freezing out there. He puts a blanket around her and pushes her
out the door, locking it behind her. Seeing her scarf, he picks
it up. Cecile returns, rattling the door and calling for Maggie.

BCGH (Tomas and Mrs. Vampire)

Tomas tells her that he has been suspended because they think
that he is the one who has been pulling the plugs. That's
absurd, she tells him. Listen, if you know anything about these
people who have died, you have to tell me.

She tells him that she asked Horace if he knew anything about the
plug pullings and he told her that why should he do anything with
the hospital blood bank full? Tomas tells her that he doesn't
want to hear anything more about vampires, that he thinks that it
is all a coverup. Further, he thinks that there is something
evil happening around here, but that he doesn't think that it is
supernatural. You get a kick out of killing people, don't you?

I think that you have a lot to learn about life and death, my
friend. I am not your friend, he replies. But you would be?

You think that I have a lot to learn about life, do you, and who
is supposed to teach me, you and Horace? Perhaps, you are
certainly are naive if you think that it is all over when you
die. There are restless souls all over Bay City. Oh come on,
that is such a crock. We see Maggie wandering down the street in
her blanket. Tomas spots her and says, oh my god. That's Maggie
Cory, but she is dead! Do you think that that was Maggie's
ghost? Perhaps now you will take what I have to say more
seriously. Come, sit, I'll tell you many secrets of the
afterlife. I have to get out of here, Tomas tells her. She
points out that he is in no condition to drive. We don't want a
repeat of that night when he almost ran over that woman in the
ambulance. Maybe you could drive me home on your broomstick.

There is no need to be unkind, she tells him. You could use a
friend right now. I'm cold. That's nothing new, I'm always
cold. You seem kinda warm to me, he tells her. Go ahead, you
want me, you've wanted me since the first time we laid eyes on
each other. They kiss.

Carlino's (Cass and Frankie, Sophia, Cecile)

Maybe they should drop the whole subject of John and Felicia
because it is obvious that they are never going to agree. They
discuss Charlene, Felicia and John. Frankie tells Cass that she
stood by him through all the Ben Michael's fiasco, but in this
case, her first allegiance must be Charlene. Sophia approaches
and asks if they would like anything else. They tell her no and
she leaves to get the check. Cecile enters and asks Cass for the
envelope back. Cass looks for it, but is unable to find it.

Cecile accuses Frankie of hiding it and starts to panic when she
can't find it. I want my envelope! However, the envelope is
nowhere to be found. Frankie asks why it is so important.

Cecile tells them that it was a suicide note. She spins a tale
about going out to the lake to commit suicide and then realizing
that it would take more courage to live than to die. Cass and
Frankie do not believe the tale she is spinning. All Cecile
wants is her envelope back. Sophia approaches the table with the
check and Cecile lights into her about this being a second rate
place that lost her envelope. Cass spies the envelope on the
floor and gives it to Cecile who rips it up.

Victoria's (Vicky)

Vicky picks up Ryan's picture and tells it that she knows that
she said she would never take advantage of your cop connections,
but desperate times call for desperate measures. She promises to
get a confession out of Grant. I know that you are going to be
watching over me tonight, I am going to get Grant to tell me what
happened that night on the trestle. After turning on the tape
recorder and putting it in the drawer she completes setting the
mood for Grant, checking to be sure that Carls' little bottle is
handy. The doorbell rings and Vicky, after one more check on the
house, goes to answer it, first putting the gun behind a cushion
in the couch. She opens the door to . . . Jake. This isn't a
good time, Jake. I know that you are still ticked at me for
breaking up your little cabin fiasco, but if you are still after
that guy, then someone has to do your thinking for you. Why are
you such a pain in my butt? I don't know what you are up to with
Grant, but I am not going to let you take the risk. What's that
smell? Jake begins to twig on to the fact that Vicky has plans
for the evening. Vicky tells Jake that she will tell him what is
going on and starts a tale about Jamie wanting her to go to
London with the boys and that she need Grant's permission to take
Kirk out of the country. She tells him that he ruined her
chances up at the cabin and please, don't wreck her chances
tonight. The doorbell rings and she goes to answer it, leaving
Jake in the living room. This time it is Grant and she invites
him in. He asks Jake what he is doing there and Jake tells him
that he was just leaving. Take care of the kids, he tells Vicky
and leaves. Vicky apologizes to Grant and he tells her that that
is ok, he is gone and they are alone now. He asks about Kirkland
and Vic tells him that he was out like a light. He can check on
him if he would like. Would he like a drink? The usual? He
tells her that he would and goes to help her make it. She
insists that he sit down and he does. She makes the drink,
putting a few drops of the wonder drug in it. She gives it to
him and says "Bottom's Up."

Grant starts to take a drink but stops when he sees that Vicky
isn't going to join him. She says of course, she doesn't know
what she was thinking. He offers to get it for her, but she
declines. He starts to sit down where she has the gun and she
stops him by telling him that that is where she used to put
Kirkland down and it needs to be restuffed. She invites him to
sit down a bit further on the couch. They talk about the boys
for a brief time. They toast themselves. He puts down his drink
and tells her that he needs to be perfectly sober for what he
needs to say. What's that, she asks. He tells her that he knows
that at the cabin she told him that she cared for her, but that
there is only one way that he will know for sure. She tells him
that yes, she is willing and he tells her that that is not what
he has in mind. He opens his jacket pocket and brings out a box.

Will you marry me? He asks. I don't know what to say, she tells
him. A simple yes will do. This isn't a joke. You asked me to
marry you. She tells him that it is too soon, she needs to
mourn. He tells her that it can be a secret. She continues to
try to get the truth out of Grant. He tells her that he will
tell her the truth as soon as she says that she will marry him.

She holds off and tells him that she needs to hear the truth. He
tells her that it is all about truth, he needs to hear from her
that she will stay with him, no matter what, and that they will
spend their lives together as husband and wife. Yes, she
replies. Yes I will.

Her and Grant kiss. You have made me very happy Victoria. Vicky
tells him that they are both going to get what they deserve.

Grant puts his ring on her finger. We see Jake watching from the
window. Freeze Frame
