* Many secrets are revealed
* Many ads are run in the classifieds
* Felicia returns to bodice-ripping
* Cecile pleads for one more tiny secret

CECILE SEES A GHOST
Cecile/Maggie

Cecile goes to the address where Rafael told her she could find
Maggie alive; she finds traces but no Maggie, then the door opens and
Maggie enters. Cecile is shocked, then starts gushing all over her,
you're alive! No thanks to you, Maggie retorts. Cecile is so distraught,
Maggie almost believes she's sincere, until the real Cecile emerges: who
could have done such a thing to you, my poor baby...! We both know it was
you, all you wanted was the $1 million ransom money, snarls Maggie, I
heard you and your thug arguing outside the cabin, just stop lying!

Cecile remembers all the evidence they found that Maggie was killed, and
figures out that Maggie staged the whole thing. She tries to make her
feel guilty about deceiving all her friends and family, you should have
seen them at the memorial service. I know, I was there, Maggie tells her
- I felt so bad, I was about to step forward, but then you got up there
and started spouting all your lies - so now it's your turn to suffer.

Cecile carries on about how sorry, guilty, grief-stricken she was, how
much she loves her daughter, she was just in such a desperate situation...

Same old song, says Maggie - you just don't get it, do you - you knew my
kidnapping was a fake, but I didn't, I was afraid I was about to be
killed! Cecile tries to paint a picture of singing her to sleep when she
was a baby, I wasn't always a bad mother, but Maggie guesses she's making
it all up [probably right]. Eventually Cecile has the gall to ask, what
did you mean by "making me suffer?" Maggie's had enough; she picks up the
phone, and asks the operator for the number of the Bay City Police Dept...

FELICIA FEELS INSPIRED
Felicia/Lorna/Marshall

Felicia is working on a new book, even answers the doorbell while
she's proofreading her latest page. Lorna swoops in with a bag of
"comfort food" to cheer up her mother, but notices that Felicia is
actually "glowing" - what gives, does it have anything to do with John?

Felicia doesn't answer, but says she's decided to stop wallowing and start
living again, including enjoying her beautiful daughter. It's obvious to
Lorna that Felicia doesn't need comforting at the moment, and decides to
take the food back to the hospital with her where things are pretty tense.

She admits that things aren't going too well with Gabe at the moment, and
Felicia jokes that maybe someday mother and daughter will both be happy at
the same time. Lorna exits, running into Marshall at the door. Felicia
has called him to show him her latest work - she apologizes for going back
to bodice-rippers after her autobiography, but Marshall skims the new book
and thinks it may be her best romance yet. She suggests he ought to find
a nice woman to curl up with and read it together in bed; I haven't had
too much luck in that field, he responds, looking at her meaningfully. He
asks if it's the writing that's making her glow like this, and also
wonders if any of the characters are people he knows - the hospital
administrator reminds him of his ex-wife, Rita Madison. Felicia suggests
they go out to dinner to celebrate the new book, which he takes along to
start editing. [see below]

THE SECRET'S FINALLY OUT FOR EMT CHEATER
Gary/Josie/Gabe/John/Tom'as

Josie posts an ad for a roommate on the precinct bulletin board. She
tells Gary he's welcome to apply, but he figures she'll be safer without
him now that Cobra/Jackie is on his trail. Tibbs interrupts them to tell
them they have a new suspect in the hospital plug-pullings - Tom'as
Rivera. Josie rushes to the one-way window to observe the interrogation.

Gabe is suggesting to John that Tom'as should get a lawyer [gee, do
they know anyone?]. John accuses Gabe of targeting Tom'as because he's
close to John, but Gabe tells him to pipe down, then asks Tom'as about
cheating on the EMT exam. John is outraged, but Tom'as says he doesn't
deserve John's support, it's true. John asks Gabe if they can have a
moment alone; Gabe leaves, and Josie follows him to his office. She
demands to know what evidence they have on Tom'as. He was someplace he
shouldn't have been, Gabe answers, and he's also been hiding a secret that
may have given him a motive [huh?]. No way could Tom'as ever take a life,
Josie insists. Gabe encourages her to prove it, then adds that for a cop
she's pretty naive about what people are capable of. As she storms out,
Gary notes her distress, then studies the personal ad he'd placed in the
paper to flush Cobra/Jackie out in the open.

Tom'as confesses to John about the "practice test" he got from a
friend, which turned out to be the actual exam; he was so shocked he
panicked and didn't say anything, then everyone made such a big fuss about
how proud they were of his perfect score, and he didn't want to let
everybody down who'd believed in him. When John insists, Tom'as admits
the "friend" was Maggie, she thought I'd be so grateful I'd take her back,
but I told her to get out of my life forever - and now that she's dead...

John sympathizes with his feelings of guilt and shame. Especially for
Luisa, says Tom'as, I was about to tell her I was her father, but she
wouldn't want a father who lied and cheated. John understands - only too
well. He assures Tom'as they'll work through this, he needs to learn from
his mistakes and move on with his life.

JOB HUNTING
Sharlene/Cass/Frankie

Sharlene goes to a series of disastrous job interviews. The
interviewers, many much younger than she, are really condescending about
her age and lack of experience outside the home, as well as some gaps in
her resume. I had some health-related problems, she explains [All three
of me did!], and she defends her personal qualities and strengths, but no
go.

Meanwhile, at Carlino's, Frankie tells Cass that she's getting scary
vibes from the sealed envelope he got from Cecile. A suicide note? Not
her style, opines Cass; he goes to call the Cory mansion to see if Cecile
has returned.

While Frankie is waiting, she spots Sharlene entering and leaps up to
greet her. Assuming she's meeting John, she persuades Sharlene to sit
with her while they wait for their hubbies. Sharlene asks if she's seen
Joe. He's around, says Frankie, adding [a little too cheerfully IMHO]
that Jake finally gave Paulina a divorce so she can marry Joe, isn't it
great? Sharlene looks uncomfortable at the subject, then says she's here
to ask Joe for a job, she really needs the money. Oh, yeah, the lawsuit
payments, says Frankie, good thing John got his job back... Sharlene
finally tells her that she and John have split, he says he's having a
midlife crisis of some sort. Who is she? Frankie demands, but Sharlene
won't go into it, she just needs to get her own life on track before she
deals with everyone else. Frankie is really shaken. Cass returns, and
Sharlene rises to track down Joe.  Cass sees that something is wrong;

Frankie doesn't say anything, just squeezes his hand for reassurance. No
word from Cecile, he reports.

WORKING DINNER
Jake/Paulina/Matt/BlairJackieCobra/Sharlene/John

Jake arrives at Carlino's, where Paulina is working as hostess. Jake
protests about how Joe is making her work in her condition. Table for
One? she asks, ignoring his dig at Joe. Actually I'm meeting a lovely
lady, he answers. As he's seated, he continues to suggest that she should
be home pampering herself. I'm pregnant, not sick, she enlightens him -
we just heard the baby's heartbeat...I cried! No kidding, Jake quips,
rolling his eyes. She giggles. Blair enters and joins them - hmm, your
date brought a date, Paulina observes as Matt enters close behind. Jake
isn't thrilled.

Paulina takes Matt aside and asks about the ad he placed, offering $1
million for info on Maggie's killer. No legit response yet, he tells her,
but believe me, we'll get to the truth.

As they dine, Jake reads some of the personal ads out loud, and he
and Matt speculate about the people who submitted them. They don't notice
that Blair reacts visibly when he reads the Jackie/Cobra ad. Matt
questions whether their paper should even run ads like this; they express
a lot of people's personal needs, Jake muses, as he observes Joe and
Paulina feeling her stomach and cooing happily together. Jake fantasizes
about coming in to Carlino's someday with his wife Paulina and young son
Jake, Jr., being waited on by a clumsy, nerdy Joe. They discuss their
lush happy life; Paulina says she can't believe she almost married that
dweeb Joe. Jake, smiling, is snapped back to reality when Matt offers a
toast: to Jake, for being man enough to give Paulina a divorce!

Jake, taking a break from the table, happens upon Sharlene talking to
Joe and eavesdrops. She asks him for a job doing anything; he apologizes,
but says their finances are so tight they can't afford to hire anyone -
they may not even be able to afford the kind of wedding they've been
planning. Don't worry, business will pick up, this is a great place, says
Sharlene; she thanks him and turns to leave, then sees John enter. Thank
God I found you, John says urgently, Tom'as is in trouble, he's at the
police station. They rush out together [see below].

Still cruising the restaurant, Jake sees Paulina slip her shoes off
her aching feet. Barefoot and pregnant, he notes, but Paulina again
ignores the dig. He hustles her to the kitchen and says he knows they
can't afford their wedding, since she gave up her trust fund to prove her
love for Jake; I can't stop caring, he tells her, I want you to be happy.

He offers to pay for the wedding, she doesn't have to tell Joe. Joe and I
don't have secrets, she tells him, no thanks.

Meanwhile, Matt sees Joe and offers to float him a loan for the
wedding, I won't mention it to Paulina. No thanks, says Joe, we have
everything we need, and we don't keep secrets. Matt sits back down,
moaning to Blair that he's gotten cynical about love. She seems to
understand, but doesn't elaborate. Jake rejoins them just as Blair rises
to leave - I have a lot of work to do, and BTW I'm stealing your paper.

She exits.

WE'RE BEHIND YA, SON
Josie/John/Sharlene/Gabe/Lorna/Gary

Josie meets John and Sharlene as they enter the squad room, and they
ask to see Tom'as together to show their united support. As they go to
him, he's nearly in tears. Sharlene hugs him and offers to help, the way
he helped her over the years. He says he's afraid he could lose custody
of Luisa over this, but they promise to make sure that doesn't happen.

Josie tells them he's not under arrest, he can leave once they've finished
questioning him. I can't go home, says Tom'as, Luisa would sense
something was wrong. Sharlene offers to pick up Luisa and keep her
overnight with her and Gregory, and Josie says Tom'as can stay at her
place. Tom'as is grateful that they still care.

Once the questioning is over, Josie tells Tom'as he's free to go,
just hang around while I finish some stuff. She stops by Gary's desk and
whispers, now we have to find the real killer. [unlike before?]
Lorna and Gabe come out of his office; she urges him to remember
they're on the same side, and he watches her exit. Then he calls Gary
into his office, while Josie calls the paper to see if anyone's answered
her ad for a roomie.

Meanwhile, Blair sits at her desk, circles Josie's ad, and smiles.

FANCY MEETING YOU HERE
John/Sharlene/Rita/Marshall/Felicia

John and Sharlene exit the station, and John asks how she's doing.

She says she's fine, tells him to take care of himself and keep her posted
about Tom'as and the investigation, and exits. Just then Rita comes out,
and John blasts her for gunning for Tom'as because he and John are close.

He cheated, and now I'm suspending him, she snaps. And I'll get him
reinstated, John snaps back. Rita storms away.

By this time, Felicia and Marshall have walked to the town square on
their way to dinner. Marshall, seeing Rita, asks for a rain check. No
problem, says Felicia, spotting John. Marshall takes off after Rita, and
John comes over smiling to greet the "glowing" Felicia.

And Sharlene? She goes home, sits at a card table in her new flat,
and pores dejectedly over the employment ads with a sigh.

AND FOR DESSERT...
Cass/Frankie/Felicia/John

Cass suggests that Frankie order the tiramisu while he checks on the
sitter. Before he can get up, she looks up and sees John and Felicia
enter the restaurant. It's Felicia, Frankie gasps as the light dawns.

FREEZE FRAME.

Did I leave anything out?
