Maggie the Miffed checks the paper to find out when her funeral is. She would
like to attend. Rafael thinks she's nuts. She plans to enter at the most
opportune moment and scream "J'accuse!" at Cecile. Rafael warns that that
will mean jail for Cecile. Maggie thinks she deserves it. Rafael thinks that
he doesn't and decides to split. Maggie desperately tries to convince him to
stay, but when money doesn't do the trick, she knocks him out (in the hotel
room, with the candlestick) and ties him to a chair. When he won't shut up,
she gags him. Turning tables. She calls Cecile and fakes a southern accent
-- I'm that poor Maggie's friend. Whenever can I pay my respects?

Cecile says to herself that she has to tell Cass the truth. Cass overhears
this and asks for the truth. Cecile reminds him that she needs money because
she sold fake jewelry. He stops her -- as long as we are talking about money
(when is Cecile not?) I have something to tell you. Rachel had me arrange for
the possibility of Maggie's death (when was this, when Rachel was drugged in
Switzerland?). I asked Maggie whom she wanted to receive her money and
Maggie
chose you, Cecile. She said that even though you were a ditz and you never
took care of her, she wanted to take care of you. Now, what were you going to
say? Um, just that money isn't important after all this tragedy. Yeah,
right. Cass leaves, and Cecile makes a mysterious phone call. Later, she
meets up with her creditor and promises him the money soon. Then, she
blames
him for Maggie's death. No way, he says. That was all your fault -- and even
the crook is disgusted by her.

Nick and Sofia worry about Maggie. Jake arrives to pump Nick for details
about Vicky. Jake requests that Nick keep an eye on Vicky and Grant. Nick
asks Jake for news on Maggie. Sorry, dude, she's dead. Michael arrives at
the restaurant and tries to comfort him about Maggie. In a very sensitive
segue, he goes right from that to harrassing Nick about his job. Nick gets
upset; they fight.

At the Herald, Matt yells at his staff -- they're doing a terrible job on the
Maggie story. Jake tells him to chill out and go be with his family. Matt
tells Jake to look at resumes -- they need some decent reporters. Michael
arrives and starts more trouble with Nick. Matt, irked even more by Michael's
presence, tells them to shut up or get out. Michael harrasses Jake, saying
he's let down Donna, Marley, and Vicky, and he won't let him hurt Nick. Nick
explodes and informs his father that he's moving out.

John and Gregory play in John's office. Sharlene arrives and John sends
Gregory out of the room so they can talk. He gives her a check for expenses
since all the money from the farm went to pay his settlement. She needs the
money, but is not exactly pleased at filling like a bill he needs to pay. She
says she keeps waiting to hear from him, but never does. I thought you didn't
want to hear from me, he replies. She says she was hoping that he would fight
for their marriage. John's tired of fighting (poor baby). He says he's made
a mistake, that he can't sleep, that at least he didn't run off with Felicia
when Sharlene kicked him out. He tells her that their marriage wasn't perfect
before this and yells at her for going to Oklahoma. Then, Sensitive Man says
that he should have *forbade* her from going until they could all go together.
Sharlene can't believe he's blaming it on her. He says he's not, but then he
proceeds to blame it on her some more. He says she doesn't really know him
or
she wouldn't have sold the farm for him. She did it to help him. What about
my pride, he whines. Pride wouldn't have paid your settlement, sweetie.
Sharlene asks him if they have a chance. He doesn't know. Maybe I don't
deserve you, he says (that's for sure) but I want you (though his actions
later make me doubt this statement, to say the least). John again says that
they're both responsible for the situation (ever heard of denial, John?)
Sharlene has a question: if you didn't sleep with her either time I was in
Oklahoma, why did you sleep with her when I came back and was being totally
supportive of you? Good question. He did it because they were alone in the
car and they were talking about Ben Michaels. So? Well, we also talked about
Vietnam. A little boy died in my arms there. Why didn't you tell me that, she
says. You weren't there, he says. Yes I was, she correctly replies. You
chose her over me. John says that they can only be together if she can
forgive him. Well, she can't - he took away their trust. She leaves with
Gregory. When they run into Lorna outside, Gregory volunteers that John lives
at the hospital now.

Lorna bugs Felicia about not hiding and going after John before he decides
that he might want to go back to his wife. She tries to get Felicia to admit
that she loves John. Later, Michael arrives to tell Felicia to stay away from
John. She throws him out. Wow, Michael is certainly popular today -- Jake,
Nick, Matt, and Felicia -- in short everyone he had a scene with -- told him
to get out. Felicia goes to Carlino's and finds she has a fan in Sofia -- and
John, who arrives right after her. Wordlessly, they exit the restaurant
together.
